HATE. THE. SNOW.

  • Feb. 5th, 2010 at 4:16 PM
PISSED.

SO. MUCH.

RRRRRRRGHH *wall bangs*

It turned out to be an interesting two weeks. Last week, when my friends were supposed to come over for Saturday, it snowed about a foot and they couldn't make it. So we agreed to try and reschedule this weekend (with the exception of Choco, who couldn't make it anwyay) while making plans at school. Alas, this week we only had one day of school, that being yesterday.

The common slogan of our teachers? "I haven't seen you guys in six days!" *facepalm* Not that I can honestly say that I complained.

We got tons of homework, though. Oh God.

*rant* (EFFFF YOU MR. K FOR BEING A BASTARD AND GIVING US SO MUCH FRICKIN' HEALTH HOMEWORK. HEALTH. How the hell is that subject important anyway?) *rant*

And right now it's snowing, there being a winterstorm warning until 10 PM. Tomorrow. The grill on our back porch is almost completely buried, and our front steps are gone. You can't even see the impressions for where they normally would be. What makes it worse is that the foot of snow that we had last week? Most of it still hasn't been cleared.

But mezzo, being as optimistic as she is ("EFFF THAT, it will happen, we will make it so and I will shoot the weatherman!") suggested we shoot one last time yesterday and try to re-reschedule next week.

Next period I have, the teacher tells us the weatherpeople are predicting another winterstorm next Tuesday.  =A= Who else did not see that coming a mile away? I didn't.

Honestly, Tenni, mezzo, and I are freaked out now, because we were planning to go see Percy Jackson in a week (the premiere! IT'S SO CLOSE!!! <3333), but if it snows then none of us will be able to make it. With six weeks of winter left, something tells me we're not going to.

Damn you, Zeus. *shot with thunderbolt*

PISSED.

What's with this increase in homework and assignments!? I've got like five tests to take this Friday! What the hell!?

RRGH.

Anyway. Clover's been stalking DA lately, so that's why there've been no updates here. Here's something new I'm working on:

Giant omega page...of...DEATH. )

My first attempt at a comic strip. I think it could be better, but presentably, it's decent. Comic pages themselves also take a very short time to make, at least in comparison to my normal art (15-20 hours) and these per page (3 hours). Then again, there'll probably be about ten more pages to go, so...blah.

I'm finding that lately, art is becoming more prominent in my real life, which is really ironic. (Rly? After I got my DA account?)

My dad's asked me to design a logo/picture thing for the hospital signs at an event (I'm not getting paid, but it's fun~), and I get to draw a cover for my reading response journal for my book in English. Thing is, I'm reading a book I actually like. It's called The Looking Glass Wars, a Sci-Fi/Fantasy take on the original Alice in Wonderland book, not that Disney crap. Really good, although chances are high that I'll be spending the next two weeks working on that picture, not the project itself. XD; I read the book back a few years ago, so now I'm basically scimming through it to find good plot references for the cover.

On a different, completely unrelated note, my birthday's this weekend! *does the I'm-totally-looking-forward-to-my-dad's-dessert dance* I'm actually looking forward to it this year, because for once all my friends (Tenni, Choco, and mezzoforteish for their online names) are allowed to spend the night at my house, which never happened before because somebody's mother would always have issues and at least one person couldn't make it. Mine and mezzo's would be too lazy/pissed for conversation, Choco's works part-time leaving her to babysit her little sis which prevented her from coming, and Tenni's...well, true to her name, she plays tennis. Her mom's really supportive of that, so if it messes up her schedule, no-can-do.

The plan is to spend all night playing video games (Brawl and Kingdom Hearts specifically), order pizza or some other fat-filled junk food, and get on my parents' nerves by screaming at the top of our lungs.

Because I always freak out when I play Brawl. :3 Voices in yo' head~

...He just...looks...mature? Awesome? HOT? I don't know. I can't tell if they've aged that much just by this picture, but HOLY FREAKIN' OMEGA CRAP OF DOOM do those outfits fit them better then I ever could have predicted.

I don't know if I can take four more months of this. >.<

What the...

Serious.

First off, I don't care if I posted an entry an hour ago. That's besides the point.

Reason I'm bothering to post is because of the latest Mangafox update. Specifically, this page:DP page, credit to mangafox. )
Look at the bottom left corner. That's Elm and Joey on the screen, right? Then, right after that...

TRAINER ACTIVITIES AND EGG RESEARCH!? @.@

GOLD? HERE? What the hell? How come I didn't catch wind of this reference before? Not a single person has mentioned it! I heard about the 'Ruins of Alph in Johto' thing, but not this!

...And really, if Joey was allowed on screen, Gold could have bothered to show up, just this once...*mutter mutter*

(Also, why does the woman on the next page resemble Lorelei? More importantly, WHAT'S WITH ALL THESE JOHTO REFERENCES POPPING UP? Am I just being overreactive? >.<)

OH MY GODS.

*breathes*

I...I think I died. Died, went to the Underworld, saw Hitsugaya Toshirou, and got sent back up here.

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WAIT UNTIL APRIL!?

Like hell my sanity is going to last that long. Oh, God...Does anyone know any good patience tricks?

Been a While

Wat?

I haven't posted on PC in forever. -facepalm- I'll need to head back later today. Although I probably won't post for a while again, because of exams. T^T

EXAMS ARE DOUCHES.

On a different note, I got a Deviant account! I'll still post every where else, though. Except for PC, since my memory is poor. -repeat facepalm-

And I finished a picture. Took a while, but I think it's worth it.

Clover makes a new discovery! Turns out, if you take your time with a picture and not try to rush through things, like I was doing, you get a neater, better picture. EUREKA! -headdesk-

I still can't do backgrounds, though. ARGH.

Happy belated birthday, Bill~

School sucks. But it always does. It just sucked more than usual because I'm used to waking up at eleven in the morning, not six.

(BTW, 'Okini' is Japanese Osaka for 'Thank you'.)

FANGIRLING FTW. XD

No waiz.

Two pics today. Kinda. First one's a sketch:

silverbirthday.jpg picture by Clover_Bookcat
On Christmas Eve I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for Silver. The most you could say I did was add something for him in Gift, and that was a last minute decision. Very poorly done. So this is a *really* belated birthday present for him~(even if it looks terrible)

I think that back when he was smaller and he travelled with Blue, she probably wouldn't have hesitated to try and give him a birthday and celebrate with him. He would have done likewise. That's why he's blushing, but in truth he's embarrassed as hell. Poor guy. Nowadays, it's Gold and Crys who would have done this to him. Except he wouldn't blush. HE WOULDN'T, I SAY.

goldvsmaskofice.jpg picture by Clover_Bookcat
I think Gold looks slightly better in this one...or at least it's colored better than what I've done before. At least it makes more sense. I think. Mask of Ice could have been better, I guess. Thing is, I like drawing capes/cloaks, but I can't color them worth crap. ^.^

...If I drew something for Silver from a month ago, I should probably sketch something for Bill, since his was less than a week ago, huh? *runs off*

Did I ever mention Falco is in my Top 5 Brawl Hate Characters?

Oh, and I drew my first official picture:
johto.jpg picture by Clover_Bookcat
I'm still unsure of whether I should use lineart or pencil when I'm outlining. I guess in this case lineart probably would have been better. Silver and the Mask of Ice look okay...Gold and Crys are weirdly balanced. Eh, practice makes perfect, I guess.

The world has flipped.

Wat?

Er, or at least the way I draw on SAI.

See, apparently sketching is ridiculously easy:

yellowsketch.jpg picture by Clover_Bookcat
At least, it looks remotely like the model.

But when it comes to coloring, I fail. I'm not posting that pic I tried of Johto, it looks ugly. D8 Maybe after I practice with the system a bit more.

Right now I'm working on a pic of the Johto Trio that I did in my notebook...maybe three months ago? Hopefully it doesn't look like total crap.

This? THIS? I did it myself. *giant enormous happy face* That cat in the picture is me, btw.

Now that I've got the program, I think I'll make this account like some of those fantastic Japanese blogs. You know, with the added picture logs and stuff?

They won't always be colored, but who cares? XD I'm still learning about it, but I think this turned out okay for a first shot.

Whee~ *dances away*

Ugh. Tired.
I finished Gift~

It took me three days nonstop worth of work, but I made it in time. Now...to catch...my breath...*faints*

Next up is...Bets and Disguises, I think? Then I must get to work on the next chapter for TaS. Geez, I've left it alone for the past two months, poor thing.

Oh. And.

TOMORROW'S CHRISTMAS HOLY POKEBLOCK CAN I PLEASE FREAK OUT NAOW!?
Whoops.

Are there any classic holiday movies or TV shows that you look forward to watching year after year? What are your all-time favorites? Are there any you simply can't stand?

For some reason, every single year, our family HAS to watch 'The Grinch' and 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'. Don't ask me why. Nothing against Snoopy, mind - I love that dog. :3 Oh, but one I like is actually 'The Polar Express'. Don't know why for that one, either. It's either because that movie was just so darn cute, or because the music was awesome. We actually played some of the main themes in band a few years back, and it was really fun. We also played it for these elementary schools on this annual trip we used to do, and some of the kids started jumping up in the audience and singing along.

Most adorable sight ever. Especially for 'When Christmas Comes to Town', but do not underestimate 'Hot Chocolate', either. Kids actually started dancing to that one. XD

A little late, but our fam' might be going to see Avatar, too. My dad's really interested in it, for some reason. But well, so long as he doesn't object to my going to see Percy Jackson in a few months, I don't really care. Haven't seen New Moon yet, though...Darn. I'll have to get around to tearing that thing apart eventually. Maybe when the local library gets hold of the DVD.

Off topic: Gift is going pretty well~I've still got a major scene to write, but the beginning and end are both finished. Yes, I write in a weird order. Don't question it.

It's a Winter Wonderland~

Ugh. Tired.
Outside my house, today. Remember how I said it was snowing yesterday? That lasted all night. Apparently. I woke up this morning to freak out at the sheer load of snow that was piled on our porch.

Like I said yesterday, I have never seen that much snow in my life. Ever.

My dad estimates it as a little over a foot, so altogether he's guessing fifteen inches. Wow.

We spent all of this morning and a good part of the afternoon clearing out our driveway. Lucky for us, my grandfather gave us a snow plow (exactly WHY he gave this to my dad last year, I don't know) so my dad got to use that for most of the driveway. Most. Considering our driveway is set at a less-then-forty-five-degree-angle, it's never an easy task.

Even though I barely helped with the driveway, and instead shoveled away the snow from the steps leading up to the front porch. XP

What was kind of funny was the way our cats reacted. They've seen a little bit of snow each year, but never this much. So I can't really blame Kuro for trying to do her daily patrol around the house through the snow. What apparently happened was she tried to go as far as she could while staying under the little roof over our garage doors, then ran out into the snow, got to the steps that I still hadn't shoveled at this time, gave up, and ran back inside. I'm not sure how she managed to stay dry, considering that fifteen inches is about how tall she is. Probably a good wash, is my guess. Chibi, our other cat, didn't even try to go out in the morning, but while I came back down from the hill to help my dad with the drive, we saw him stick his head out from under the hedge under a window. Now, I hadn't shoveled far enough to reach the hedges yet, and even if I did, that's still about a six inch thick wall from the leaves on the hedges to the ground. Chibi looked like he was going to jump down from the ledge (the hedges are located on top of a stone wall that divides the drive and our front yard), but when he tensed up, he looked down at the snow on the ground that my dad and I hadn't gotten to yet, freaked, and hid back under the hedge.

Scaredy cat.

Now I'm off to work on my Christmas fic~ I've got a six day deadline to make, mustn't forget that.

In all honesty? Not much at all. Though it really depends on what your opinion is on how much 'how much' is.

For instance, if someone were to come up to me, regardless of whether they were a stranger or not, and say:

Hey, I found this shiny, glowing portal to another world, and I took a peek, and I saw those things called Pokemon with a kid with goggles flying around on one! Wanna see?

Then I would inevitably pack up my things, slam the door behind me, and follow said person to said portal and jump right in.

HOWEVER, if said person were to come up to me and say:

Hey, I found this shiny, glowing portal to another world, and I took a peek, and I saw these people with blue sparkly skin and huge eyes surrounded by an equally sparkly environment! Wanna see?

Then I would stay around only long enough to ask why on earth the person's vision is so fragmented, why they think that humans have the same benefit as cats in that they posess large slanted eyes, and how in the hell their brain got so screwed up that they truly believe that Edward Cullen exists, let alone that he has blue skin. After which I would slam aforementioned door in aforementioned person's face and go back to stalking mangafox while (impatiently) waiting for another D/P update. Then I would get yelled at for not doing my homework.

WHY!?

Sad

WHY ISN'T IT FRIDAY YET!?!?

TToTT As soon as the school day for Friday is over, I am going to come home and start sobbing into a towel. Because then my projects will be over, my epic-pilez-of-fail Science Fair and Latin projects will be turned in, and I'll be damned if I have to make another presentation for English for three weeks.

Which I will, because it turns out I'll be the one who has to make the Powerpoint for our 'Girl in Hyacinth Blue' project.
